III: Halcyon Hymn
Part III of Saisons du Coeur - Bonus post as it is, indeed, the first day of Summer
for Grace
Evenings are the dreams of Summer's heart. They stretch with days by borrowing from sleep; Extend into the hours small and still; Revel against the clear fair claims of prudence; Glory in the warm glow of exhaustion; Spend... and do not count that which is spent. We know these nights are numbered. But, for now, so long as green and light hang in our hearts, So long as grief and sorrow lie on either side of present, We rejoice... and build a store against approaching Winter.
I’m a fan of this brief poem; it isn’t quite unbearable in here yet, so why not

Israel,
Very glad to hear that! That is its most appropriate setting, a summer porch in good company.
